Day 1: Arrival in Moshi – Start of Off-Road Adventure

Distance: 45 km from Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Enjoy a briefing on your upcoming adventure, followed by dinner and overnight at a comfortable lodge.

Day 2: Moshi – Kitumbeine

Distance: 180 km (35 km tarmac + 145 km off-road)

After breakfast, set off towards the Monduli Mountains, where the Great Rift Valley unfolds with spectacular views. Navigate rugged trails descending into a semi-arid valley, home to Maasai communities and abundant wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, gazelles, and baboons.

Day 3: Kitumbeine – Lake Natron

Distance: 160 km (off-road terrain)

Travel across dry, dusty plains teeming with wildebeest, zebras, and giraffes. Stop at the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai, an active volcano revered by the Maasai. Reach Lake Natron, one of the world’s largest soda lakes, and witness the breathtaking Engare Sero Waterfalls before settling into your scenic campsite.

Day 4: Lake Natron – Ngorongoro Highlands

Distance: 200 km (off-road + tarmac segments)

Enjoy a morning walk along Lake Natron’s shore, where thousands of flamingos gather. Ride through the remote Engaruka Maasai village, then ascend towards Ngorongoro’s volcanic highlands, passing through the lush greenery of Mto wa Mbu before reaching your lodge.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Eyasi

Distance: 140 km (off-road + 4WD safari)

Early morning game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World”. Descend into the crater (600m deep, 19km wide) to spot the Big Five and other wildlife in this enclosed ecosystem. After lunch, head to Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadzabe Bushmen, one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa.

Day 6: Lake Eyasi – Tarangire National Park

Distance: 180 km (off-road + tarmac segments)

Start the day with a cultural visit to the Hadzabe and observe their hunting techniques. Ride along the shores of Lake Manyara, encountering gazelles, wildebeests, and zebras. Arrive at Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy an evening game drive before settling into your tented camp.

Day 7: Tarangire – Moshi – Kilimanjaro Airport

Distance: 170 km (110 km off-road + 60 km tarmac)

Enjoy a final morning safari before heading back to Moshi. Stop for a refreshing shower at Moivaro Lodge before your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
