After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, approximately 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Arusha, a journey of about 2 hours. Known for its vast elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire offers a rich diversity of wildlife. Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch amidst the park’s scenic landscapes.

This morning, journey to the Central Serengeti, covering approximately 300 kilometers (186 miles) over a 6-hour drive. The Serengeti’s endless plains are home to the Big Five and host the world-renowned Great Migration. Upon arrival, embark on an afternoon game drive to explore the abundant wildlife.

Spend the day immersed in the heart of the Serengeti. Track the movements of the Great Migration, witnessing thousands of wildebeest and zebras as they traverse the plains. Your experienced guide will share insights into the ecosystem and the behaviors of the resident wildlife.

Travel north to the Kogatende area, approximately 150 kilometers (93 miles) from Central Serengeti, a 3 to 4-hour drive. This region is famed for the Mara River crossings, where you may witness the dramatic spectacle of the migration facing crocodile-infested waters. Afternoon game drive along the riverbanks.

Dedicate the day to exploring the Northern Serengeti. Position yourself near the Mara River to increase the chances of observing a river crossing. The area also offers opportunities to see predators like lions and leopards taking advantage of the migrating herds.

After a morning game drive, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, approximately 350 kilometers (217 miles) away, translating to a 7-hour drive. En route, visit the Olduvai Gorge Museum, a significant archaeological site showcasing early human fossils and artifacts.

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater’s unique ecosystem supports a dense population of wildlife, including the Big Five. After a picnic lunch, ascend and journey back to Arusha, approximately 190 kilometers (118 miles), a 3 to 4-hour drive. Depending on your flight schedule, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure.
