Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Evening: Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’ll be transferred to your Nairobi hotel. Rest and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park
Morning: Depart Nairobi, driving approximately 250 kilometers (about 4.5 hours) southeast to Tsavo West National Park.
Afternoon: After lunch, embark on a game drive to Mzima Springs, where you might spot hippos and crocodiles. An underground viewing chamber offers a unique perspective of aquatic life.
Evening: Check into Kilaguni Serena Lodge, renowned for its tranquil atmosphere and uninterrupted views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy a welcome dinner with your group.
Day 3: Tsavo West to Amboseli National Park
Morning: After breakfast, drive approximately 150 kilometers (around 3 hours) to Amboseli National Park, famed for its large elephant herds and stunning Mount Kilimanjaro backdrop.
Afternoon: Enjoy a game drive en route to Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge, where you’ll stay overnight.
Day 4: Amboseli National Park Exploration
Morning & Afternoon: Participate in early morning and afternoon game drives. The park’s sparse vegetation offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, including lions, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos in the swamplands.
Evening: Return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.
Day 5: Amboseli to Aberdare National Park
Morning: Depart Amboseli, driving back to Nairobi (approximately 250 kilometers or 4.5 hours).
Afternoon: Continue north to the Aberdare Mountain Range (about 160 kilometers or 3 hours from Nairobi), with lunch en route.
Evening: Check in at Aberdare Country Club before transferring to The Ark Lodge, designed to resemble Noah’s Ark. The lodge overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, attracting various wildlife.
Day 6: Aberdare to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Morning: Drive approximately 100 kilometers (around 2 hours) north to Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
Afternoon: After lunch at Sweetwaters Serena Camp, visit the Chimpanzee and Rhino Sanctuaries. Ol Pejeta is the only place in Kenya to see endangered chimpanzees and houses the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, including the world’s last two northern white rhinos.
Evening: Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Ol Pejeta to Maasai Mara National Reserve
Morning: Transfer to Nanyuki Airstrip for a flight to Maasai Mara.
Afternoon: Upon arrival, embark on a game drive across the rolling plains, home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and more. Check into Sarova Mara Game Camp for the night.
Day 8: Maasai Mara Exploration
Optional: Start the day with a sunrise hot-air balloon safari over the Mara.
Morning & Afternoon: Enjoy multiple game drives, maximizing wildlife viewing opportunities in this iconic reserve.
Evening: Return to the camp for dinner and relaxation.
Day 9: Maasai Mara to Nairobi
Morning: After breakfast, fly back to Nairobi.
Afternoon: Depending on your onward travel plans, you may opt to fly directly from Maasai Mara to Mombasa for a coastal extension.
