6:30 AM: Start your day with an early breakfast in Moshi. Afterward, depart for the Marangu Gate (1,870 meters / 6,135 feet), the starting point of the Marangu Route. The drive to the gate takes approximately 1 hour, offering views of lush landscapes and small villages along the way.

7:30 AM: Arrive at Marangu Gate for registration and briefing by your guide. Begin your trek through Kilimanjaro’s lush rainforest.

8:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Hike to Mandara Huts (2,700 meters / 8,858 feet), a 7-kilometer (4.3-mile) trek that takes about 3–4 hours. Along the way, marvel at the dense rainforest with its towering trees, vibrant flowers, and a variety of bird species. You may also encounter black-and-white colobus monkeys and other wildlife.

12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Arrive at Mandara Huts, where you’ll enjoy your packed lunch surrounded by serene mountain views. Take a short walk to the Maundi Crater for panoramic views of Kenya and northern Tanzania, weather permitting.

1:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Begin your descent back to Marangu Gate, retracing your steps through the enchanting rainforest.

4:30 PM: Arrive at Marangu Gate. Receive a certificate of participation and enjoy some time to relax before departing.

6:00 PM: Return to Moshi, marking the end of your unforgettable day trip.
